THE PROMISE OF
ENTERING HIS REST
Hebrews 4:1-13
Key Verse: 4:1
“Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still
stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of
it.”
- What promise did God give to the Israelites? (Num 13:1)
What promise do we have in Jesus? (John 3:16) How does the promise to
enter God’s rest still stand?
- Why did the Israelites of Moses’ time fail to enter the
promised land? What is our promised land? How is our position and
opportunity similar to theirs? What should we learn from them?
- What is the origin of the Sabbath-rest? Why was the
Sabbath-rest taken away from man? How did God re-establish the
Sabbath-rest? What is the symbol of the Sabbath-rest? What is the symbol
pf the Sabbath-rest? How can we enter God’s rest?
- How can we practically make every effort to enter God’s
rest? (4:10-13)
- When and to whom must we give account for our inner
thoughts and attitudes of the heart as well as for our actions? Why is
disobeying God’s word such as serious matter?
