* WHAT IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD LIKE?

1. With what did Jesus first compare the kingdom of God? What does this parable tell us about the way the kingdom of God grows?(18 ,19 )

2. How is the coming of Jesus related to the coming of the kingdom of God in the world? (see Mark 1:15) [How did Luke contrast his coming with the earthly rulers of that time? (see Luke 2:1-7)]

3. In the parable, what happened when the mustard seed grew into a tree? What does this tell us about the kingdom of God?

4. With what did Jesus next compare the kingdom of God? (20-21) What is yeast? In the parable, what is done with it? With what result? In what ways does it work like the kingdom of God? In what ways is the kingdom of God revolutionary?

* THE WAY TO ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD (22-30)

5. Where was Jesus going? For what purpose? What did he do along the way? What does this teach about him?

6. What question did someone ask him? What was on the mind of the person who asked the question? How did Jesus answer? What does it mean to "Make every effort..."? (2 Tim 2:3-6)

7. What is the narrow door? (1 Pet 1:23; Rev 1:2,3; Mt 7:13) What should be our attitude toward the narrow door? (see Ro 12:2; Mt 6:33; Dt. 6:5)

8. Why must one who would go through the narrow door have a sense of timing? What happens to those who miss their opportunity to enter through the narrow door? Who are these people? Why does he call them evildoers?

9. What is the privilege of those who enter through the narrow door? Who will be there at the feast in the kingdom of God?
