1. When Jesus and his disciples came down from the mountain of transfiguration, who met them and what was his request?

2. What was the child's problem? What was the father's problem and feeling toward his son? What was the father's real problem?

3. Why do you think the disciples had been unable to drive out the demon? What did Jesus see as the serious problem? What did he mean by verse 41? To whom is he speaking? What did he tell the father to do?

* JESUS REBUKES THE EVIL SPIRIT (42-43)

4. What happened when the child's father brought his son to Jesus? What did Jesus do? What does this teach us about Jesus? How was God glorified in this event?

* LISTEN CAREFULLY (44-45)

5. While everyone marveled at Jesus' work, what did Jesus tell his disciples? Why did he tell them to listen carefully at this particular time and in this context?

6. Why didn't they understand? Why were they afraid to ask him about it?
