1. Read verse 35. What had Jesus and his disciples been doing “that day”? What did Jesus invite his disciples to do? Why do you think he wanted to cross the lake?
 

2. Read verse 36. What was the disciples’ response? What does it mean that they took Jesus along “just as he was” in a boat? What might have been the mood of the disciples?
 

3. Read verse 37. What happened that ruined the happy atmosphere of this little “get away”? How is the fury of the storm indicated?
 

4. Read verse 38. What as Jesus doing? What does this show about him? What did the disciples do and say? What does this show about them?
 

5. Read verses 39-41. What did Jesus do about the storm? What does this reveal about him? How did he rebuke the disciples? What did he see as their problem? What did they learn about Jesus?
