1. Read verses 21-22. When and where did Jesus begin his teaching ministry? Review the content of his preaching. (1:15)

2. Why were the people amazed? What was Jesus’ attitude towards the word of God? (Mt. 4:4, 7, 10; Jn. 8:31-32; Heb. 4:12)

3. Read verses 23-28. What happened while Jesus was teaching? How did Jesus help the man possessed by an evil spirit? What does this event show about demon possession? About the authority of Jesus’ word? (27)

· JESUS’ HEALS MANY (29-34)

4. Read verses 29-31. After leaving the synagogue, where did Jesus and his disciples go? What problem did they find there? What did Jesus do about it? With what result? What can we learn about Jesus’ way of working?

5. Read verses 32-34. When and where and how did Jesus continue his work of healing? What do these events reveal about Jesus’ shepherd’s heart?
