OUR GOD IS GENEROUS IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Matthew 20:1-16

   "For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out
    early in the morning to hire men to work in his vineyard."


1.  Read verses 1-2. To what does Jesus compare the kingdom of God in
    this parable? Why did the landowner hire workers? What did he agree
    to pay them?

2.  Read verses 3-7. When and why did he hire more workers? What does
    this tell us about God and his kingdom? Why did the landowner hire
    workers again and again? (Gen 1:28; 1Co 10:31; 2Thes 3:10)

3.  Read verses 8-9. How did the vineyard owner instruct the foreman to
    pay the workers? What does this reveal about God?

4.  Read verses 10-12. Why did the laborers whom he hired first
    grumble?  What did this show about them?

5.  How did the landowner explain? Read verses 13-16. What does this
    show about God's generosity? About his sovereignty? Why must we
    accept God's sovereignty without complaints? What is Jesus teaching
    the disciples and us in this parable?
