Revelation 2-3
Key vs. 3: 20 “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone
hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with
me.”

2:1-7. The Ephesians church is a hard-working church and has maintained
sound doctrines. (2,3,6) But what is seriously lacking? (4) How have
they forsaken their first love? (5) How can they restore it? (5,1) What
is the warning and promise from the Lord? (5,7)

8-11. The Smyrna church has experienced severe persecution. How do they
suffer materially and spiritually? (9) How can they overcome on-going fiery
persecutions? (10) How does the Lord assure of their final victory?

12-17. The Pergamum church remains true to the Lord (13). However, what is
a dangerous yeast spreading in it? (14,15) How can they overcome them?
(12,16) What is the promise from the Lord? (17)
- Read vs.
18-28. The Thyatira church is a model church with spiritual fervor (19),
yet with a cancerous danger in its leadership. How does Jezebel cause
corruption? (20) How does the Lord threaten to deal with them? (21-23)
How does the Lord encourage them with the promises? (26-28,18)
- Read vs.
3:1-6. The Sardis church is like a zombie. How does it acquire a
reputation of being alive, but spiritually dead? (1) How can they come to
life? (2,3,1) How does the Lord acknowledge the faith of a few remnant and
encourage them? (4,5)
- Read vs.
7-13. The Philadelphia church has kept the word of God and persevered.
(8,10) How does the Lord encourage them to keep up? (8,9,10,11) What
does it mean by the promise of an “open door?” How does the Lord assure
that they belong to the Lord? (12, Rv14:1)
- Read vs.
14-22. The Laodicea church is wealthy, but spiritually wretched and
pitiful. (17). How has it become lukewarm - neither cold nor hot?
(15,16) How can they become spiritually fervent? (18) How does the Lord
plead with them? (19,20,21)
