The March-April CBF program will start with the study of Mark 10:13-16.  These verses tell how Jesus took time during his ministry to welcome children.  Parents wanted their kids to meet Jesus and to get his blessing.  However, the disciples felt that Jesus was too important and too busy to be bothered with them.  When Jesus saw how the disciples were telling the parents not to bother Jesus with their kids, he was indignant and told them Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these (Mark 10:14b).  To Jesus even the little children were very important!  So much so that he took them in his arms! (Verse 16) in other words - Jesus hugged the children!!!  The Bible doesnt mention Jesus hugging anyone else but these children!   Jesus welcomes little children; he wants them to know him and to experience his love and his blessing.  Jesus also wants children to love and praise God (From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise. Psalm 8:2).  And, Jesus wants grown-ups to be like children by having a pure mind and heart otherwise they might not fit through the door of heaven!  Children also want to go to Jesus!  Did you see how attentive and happy they were when they joined the adult Sunday Worship Service on snowy February 16, 2003?  May God help us to bring the children to Jesus!  

 

Meet Elijah Ku

My name is Elijah Choongsung Ku.  My parents, Hannah and Elijah Ku, named me Elijah because it means faithful to God! I have one younger sister, Hannah (who sometimes can be very annoying).   I am 12 years old and attend fifth grade at Berwyn Baptist School.  Some of my favorite things are pizza, football, the Spiderman movie, my math class, and the color blue.  My favorite Bible verses are John 3:16 and Genesis 1:1.  My favorite Bible passage is the one about Jonah and the whale.  For 2003 my key verse is Deuteronomy 6:5 and my prayer topics are to (1) get good grades; (2) have fun; (3) read the Bible at least 3x a week; (4) practice the violin and piano; and (5) pray every day!!!

Faith recently passed her audition and is now participating in the All Fairfax County Chorus.  Go Faith!!!
