2 Chronicles 7:11-22

1. Read 7:11. What had Solomon just done? Why (1 Kings 5:3-5, 2 Chronicles 6:7-10)? What was the purpose of the temple (16)? What had he prayed for at the dedication of the temple (2 Chronicles 6)? What events happened after his prayer (1-10)?

 2. Read 7:12-13. How did God respond to Solomon’s prayer? What disasters are mentioned (13)? Who is the author of these disasters?

3. Read 7:14-15. What was the purpose of those disasters? How should God’s people respond to such disasters? Why did he emphasize “my people”? Why must we humble ourselves to pray and seek His face? What did God promise?

4. Read 7:17-22. What choice did God give to Solomon (17,19)? What would be the different outcomes of his choices (18,20-21)? What can you learn from today’s passage?
